| Lol all the idiots going crazy about Megumu flashbacks. The author and anime makers know very well what they are doing, is you people that know nothing and thank god you will never make an anime cause it will be the biggest shit ever. Hybridbloodszak said: Oh man things are really heating up now... This episode did a really good job at building up Ousaka Megumu as a fierce competitor for Chihaya. They examined all facets of her like her drive but what I found was more interesting is how they sympathized her through her camaraderie with her Karuta club. Megumu isn't all that different from Mizusawa save for the fact she isn't the protagonist. What also played well into making Chihaya the underdog was everyone assuming that Megumu's team was going to face Fujisaki or Hokuo. I really hope that Mizusawa doesn't lose so early into the "real" competition but I wouldn't be surprised since Chihaya doesn't have plot armor as evidenced from last season. Personally i think the author might give the team the win so he can give us something since he probably plans to have Chihaya lose at the singles tournament. Queen is probably gonna be even stronger than last time. Everyone assuming that Shinopu would stay still seem naive to me. |

| I don't really know what people see in this Chihayafuru 2, seriously we already know the pattern of the matches, first Mizusawa loses then catches up again near the end of the match by some BS power up or realization. When is it that Desk-kun and Kana-chan can fight with B class players like it was nothing? This is getting so repetitive, we all know Mizusawa will win the match (I guess?), unlike in the first season where we couldn't predict what will happen. When is Chihaya that good, good enough to be faster than the one who almost got the West representative spot last year when Chihaya herself was troubled by fodders.. I prefer the 1st season over this, I am still watching just because of Arata, Shinobu, Sudo, and possibly Meijin |

| This was a pretty good episode! They really built up how much of a challenge Megumu will really be for Chihaya, and she seems to be taking it very seriously. Thankfully, Oe seemed to calm her down and now the match between potential queens is just starting. |

| Finally picking this back up after putting it on hold for almost a year... Anyway, I don't like Megumu and because of that, her story didn't resonate with me. Meh. |

| 5/5 Circumstances change people, what was never more true! Episode pleasant, the background of Megumu, is of secondary importance, but it was explained to give depth and to learn about her figure that was already in the cast of the first series, I like this interlude made in the plot! Narrative tense and intriguing, it seems that the Mizusawa is a goner, those cards won in the end, have been a joy. Drawings and animations good, can not wait to see the next one. Go Kanade and Chihaya! The coach of the Fujisaki is a piece of ice...Fear! |

Impressive. I think this Megumu girl is a bitch, ignoring the opponents right in front of her and going straight to Fujisaki. I get that she's an airhead but I honestly feel like her intention was to look down on Misuzawa. |

| Even though its said that Megumu is quite the airhead, its quite disrespectful towards the other semifinalists to want to immediately start the finals against Fujisaki team. I got to say despite Kana mostly playing in the background she has become quite the strong player. |

| I might need to come back to this show later, because this was another episode that just didn't work for me. Megumu acts too stupidly for me to maintain my suspension of disbelief, and her fan club is even worse. I like how this show tries to do deep character dives with every match, playing up the idea that you and your opponent are having a kind of discussion or dance. But when the opponents are this exaggeratedly fake, the premise loses its relatability and generalizability. And while I understand that Chihaya is the protagonist who has to learn from her opponents more than she teaches them, the sheer number of lessons she still needs to learn make me question how the heck her bumbling team can even get to the nationals with such regularity. |
