A couple possibilities, as I understand it:

You didn't get enough points with her to open a possible relationship. Stuff like saying you're mad at her, etc.

Or, and I think I'm right here, if you did the M/J path and took a significant step in the branched scene there, I believe you automatically shut Zoey down, because you've moved on to new drama.

So, I've seen the MC do some dumb stuff along the way and for the most part it's just kinda "OK, he's a naive college kid" and it's added to the fun. The drama added to the Jill path this episode is a good example; MC is too clueless to see that spending time with Zoey might upset her. But the upcoming drama for the M/J path this episode has finally just got me mad at him.

So, yeah, I get that each of the branches needs some drama to build up as we resolve the maya's loan situation, but man, when things fall apart in the next phase of that storyline I'ma have trouble feeling bad for MC with a sore face from how hard and long he spent punching himself in it.

It's blackmail because it was obtained illegally. It wouldn't be permissible in court no matter the circumstance.

The reason it's blackmail is because the intention is to leak it and destroy Jade's career, something she's carefully worked on for decades now.

Correction: she gets only 10%. Which considering the length of their marriage and lack of prenup is still a sizeable amount of money given that the Burkes are rich.
