"Man, this video on the Greek islands really hits the spot. Makes you realize there's more to Greece than just the usual spots like Mykonos and Santorini. The variety from one island to another is insane - from the beaches to the food and the local vibes. Really got me thinking about island hopping and checking out some of those less touristy spots. The drone shots? Top-notch. Makes me want to pack my bags and go explore. Great vid, definitely fueling my wanderlust

Greetings from the US. I lived in Crete for 1 year in 1983. It was the best. I visited Santorini twice while I was there. In 2016, I went back with my wife and three daughters to Santorini and Crete. I hope to go back again and visit more of Crete and some of the other islands you mentioned. I just found your channel and subscribed. I really enjoyed your video of off the beaten path places in Crete.
The soldiers get so drunk in Chania and you can watch them falling around the moving bus, as it returns to base. I was watching their antics in October 2003 and it was crazy. In 2004, I was back again and one of a group of them was trying to ridicule me as I passed by, down by the port. I absolutely roasted him and I knew he couldn't do anything. The dog house would be his next "chess" move. I laughed at him so much, he shut his stupid mouth. Some of them were great fun and twice my size.
Crete, of course. The cradle of civilisation. Good , drink food , charming locals, need I say anymore. Proud to be born there in Ierapetra province. Living in Norwich England. I am on the island right now, on holiday. I come here every summer, I can’t stay away to long. It’s June 2024. Thanks a lot for the introduction of all the islands. ❤ Georgios 🇬🇷✝️🇬🇧
each island shines with its unique charm and beauty, making it almost impossible to choose the most beautiful one. From the stunning sunsets of Santorini to the lush landscapes of Corfu and the rich historical tapestry of Rhodes, this video captures the essence of what makes each island a magical destination. The cinematography is absolutely stunning, drawing you into the vibrant colors and serene beauty of Greece. I've added so many of these islands to my travel bucket list now. Thank u for such an inspiring and beautifully crafted tour of Greece's treasures!
I learned something here. Hearing the place names spoken by an English speaking Greek taught me how to pronounce Greek place names. so I watched it 3 times just to get it right. Thanks.
Can not agree more about your number 1 choice. I first fell in love with Crete when i was 14. I always wanted to go back there. Well last year as a 63 year old i finally made it back and it didn't disappoint. Trouble is now you've told everybody. 😢.
Beautiful shots information about the Greek islands! Each island has its own unique history and culture, which has been excellently portrayed. great video
Anyone who is going to Greece. Here is my advice. Land in Athens, take the train from the airport to Athens. Spend 3 days in Athens, unwind and do all the touristy things. Then get the next plane out of Athens and head straight to Crete. Crete will not disappoint. It has everything and more than all the other islands have. Well that's my opinion.
Fantastic video, I returned last week from my first visit to Greece having spent a wonderful week in Crete, it really was a fantastic holiday, beautiful mountain villages and coastline and Iook forward to seeing more of your amazing country in the future 🩵💙🩵

I love your video. I've been watching a lot about Greek Islands to explore, and yours is my favorite. I have a question, particularly after seeing your description of Crete. I've read online that wild camping is not allowed anywhere in Greece. I've an avid backpacker, and enjoy long multinight overnight hikes in the mountains near where I live. It seems there are places to explore by foot in Crete that would require multiple days of walking. Is there any way to camp with the leave-no-trace ethic in Crete? Or anywhere in Greece?
Thank you for your kind words. :) In Crete you will find many places you can camp. Many beaches and even more mountainous areas. With your experience you will not have a problem i think.

I want to live in Crete or Karpathos. Just me and my dog. Any suggestions? I've looked into Chania. I don't want to be alone on a mountain top but near great villages with grocery stores. Liz
Milos was the best in my experience. I recommence 5 days minimum to enjoy all the beaches and Sarakiniko. 2-3 days max in Santorini is more than enough.

I now have a young baby though, so it would be sad to visit Crete and not go hiking or exploring. One problem though, most tourist beaches suffer from illegal concessions (kind of privatized) from restaurants or hotels. It is not as bad as Italy, but this is very annoying still. Be ready to fight for the little "public" space left, or pay big bucks.
